Our Blog Post Reading Resposes

In lieu of not having any readings to attend in the summer, we will supplement our class discussions by posting reading responses on our class blog. Each student will post one reading response, but everyone is welcome and encouraged to contribute writing-related posts throughout the term. After the first day of class, you will receive an invitation to contribute to the blog. Please accept this invitation and you will be an author who can post to the blog.

Sign-ups for blog posting will take place on Day 2. I will post the first response to one of our readings—these responses are meant to generate classroom discussion. Because a blog post is a more informal setting, you can provide a variety of responses, which might include general impressions, questions, comparisons, passages that stood out to you, links to other literary resources or writers, an image or photograph that you believe might enhance our discussion of the piece, etc. All posts must go up by midnight before the reading is due (i.e. if the reading is due on Tuesday, the post should be up by Monday at 11:59pm), and everyone in the class should take 5-10 minutes to read the blog before class begins (11:30am). Also, please remember to title your posts!

Note: The easiest way to post is to first sign into http://www.blogger.com/ which will open up to your "Dashboard." From there, you can click on "New Post" and paste (or write) your response. If you need to edit your reponse, you can go back to the Dashboard and click on "Edit Posts" or you can click on the small pencil icon near your post.
